Chemical Process Engineer

Our site in Yonezawa, Process Engineering Team is seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of the process engineer is to improve productivity and efficiency without negatively impacting quality or delivery. Identify the defects in defective products and conduct root-cause analysis.

As a Process Engineer, one is required to establish a new method for defect analysis and system that enables scrap reduction and cost savings. This position is expected to support Global Process Engineering to deploy the efficient process conditions developed in Yonezawa to KSP and Billerica.

In this role you will:

  • Efficiently conduct failure analysis, determine the root cause, and recommend countermeasures.
  • Create VQ plans and execute VQ runs to characterize the performance and reliability of cleaning process es and assembly processes.
  • Author and review standard operating procedures, batch records, and process documentation.
  • Innovate to improve technical capabilities for the team. Make proposals for developing or improving existing products and processes.
  • Understand project management tools such as Gantt charts for efficient execution of assigned tasks.
  • Communicate efficiently and timely with various audiences. Carefully listen to the voices of manufacturing operators and identify issues that effectively contribute to cost savings and improvement of first-pass yield, then propose countermeasures.
  • Adhere to policy of zero release of any hazardous materials – no exposure is a key aspect of workplace safety, especially for personnel working with hazardous materials.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in APS manufacturing such as assembly and cleaning processes.
  • Knowledge of both Photo and WEC manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient with heat bonding for both Photo and WEC.
  • Able to work fully on-site both in a Defect Analysis Laboratory and office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Mini Tab and MS office or related software.

Outstanding candidates will have:

  • Experience with handling and purification or hazardous materials.
  • 6 Sigma skills including experience with Mini Tab.
