Constructs, studies and trains algorithms that can learn from complex, high dimensionality data in order to uncover patterns from which practical and usable predictive models and applications can be developed. Uses a variety of techniques (e.g., random forests, deep learning, generative modeling, neural network memory) in order to improve the predictive capability of individual natural language processing and/or machine perception algorithms. Performs routine assignments in the entry level. Typically requires a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience and has conceptual knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices. Has no discretion to vary from established procedures by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles.
