English Adventure Winter Ski Camp Support Staff

English Adventure, the leader in English-language outdoor programs in Japan, is hiring for our upcoming winter ski camp!

Support Staff Job Description

Support Staff are the backbone of the camp operations. You will be on the ground supporting our camp program and activities. While interaction with campers is still key to your role, you will not be in charge of your own group of campers. You will be assigned to set up camp activities, support Ski Leaders and their campers, and work with camp managers on ensuring all camp activities run smoothly and timely. While all of our camp activities and schedule is planned beforehand, we rely on Support Staff to be proactive in supporting in camp any way that they can. You might be asked to do a physical job (clearing snow, preparing for evening activities like sledding or team campfires, etc) or a job that requires soft skills (caring for campers who are feeling under the weather, covering staff who are on breaks, etc).

Our Ski Support Staff are versatile and flexible - if necessary, you might be asked to fill in for Ski Leader role. For the ski support staff job, we do need staff who are very comfortable skiing and can support younger campers on the hill (for example, you might have to help a kid who is stuck on the beginner hill or is falling over a lot) plus we may ask the support staff to ski down and set up turns and jumps on the hill. The ideal Support Staff will also be comfortable communicating in Japanese with campers who have lower English levels. We cannot have ski support staff who cannot speak Japanese.

Camp is hard work! We support the campers from morning until night, but you'll have other staff around you, and some good breaks to make sure that you stay energized and are having fun too.

We are seeking hard-working, fun, and energetic English-speaking staff of any nationality. PLEASE NOTE: English Adventure is a 100% nonsmoking workplace. Please do not apply if you cannot abide by the nonsmoking rule.
