Staff Support Assistant

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Staff Support Assistant
• Location: Highland Park
• Per Diem
• Hours: As needed 7a - 4p M-F (Hrs Vary)

What You Will Do:

• Responds to the immediate needs of the patient by answering patient call lights promptly and courteously.
• As directed, by RN, makes hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and meeting patients' needs/requests.
• Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN.
• Assist with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals.
• Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes patient's linen as need, removes unnecessary equipment and linen.
• Assists patient with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care.
• As directed by the RN, transports patient to other departments or when patient being discharge.
• When directed by the RN, remains with the patient continuously for patient safety.
• Handles infectious waste and linen according to established hospital procedure.
• Adheres to proper infection control standards and hand washing techniques to avoid cross contamination.
• Cleans and disinfects unit specific equipment.
• Runner to other departments, when needed to obtain necessary items for patient care.
