Position: Food Service Assistant Lead
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Full Time, 40 hours
Hours: M-F, Sat & Sun 5:45am-2:15pm, 11am-7:30pm, 12:15pm-8:45pm
Required Travel: None
Reporting to the Tray-line Supervisor, directs the preparation and serving of meals; maintains Continuous Quality Improvement Standards; oversees sanitation of work areas; supervises and evaluates employees.
Supervises Diet Aides and Sanitation Specialists in preparing for and serving meals.
Assists in the training and evaluation of employees.
Documents Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Control Standards in the computer; ensures adherence to standards.
Oversees sanitation procedures for Diet Aides and Sanitation Specialists; adheres to hospital and departmental sanitation regulations.
Assists in coordinating and presenting in-service continuing education material.
Maintains kitchen equipment; requests preventative and emergency repairs; documents accordingly.
Maintains employee schedule; replaces absent employees as needed on a daily or weekly basis.
Adheres to departmental and hospital safety standards in order to maintain a safe patient care and working environment. Attends mandatory in-service programs.
Adheres to the hospital's Guest Relations policy.
The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school, or equivalent.
Food sanitation experience.
One year of supervisory food service experience.
The interpersonal skills necessary to train and supervise departmental employees.
The organizational skills necessary maintain the work schedule.
The ability to learn to operate a personal computer for the storage of data.
The ability to read, write, and speak in English.
