General Summary

The MSP Engineer I is an entry-level technical position that is responsible for providing both on-site and remote support to managed services clients in a fast-paced MSP environment. This position supports multiple client environments and technologies, performing workstation deployments, hardware installation, basic network troubleshooting, and end-user support. The role also collaborates with project engineers on initial system configuration and documentation and provides on-site assistance to the MSP Support Team as needed. Candidates are expected to continue developing their technical skills and pursuing certifications to progress into more advanced engineering roles.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide technical support for workstations, printers, peripherals, and related systems.
• Escalating issues while retaining ownership and communication.
• Deploy workstations, perform imaging, software installations, and initial configuration.
• Assist with basic hardware installation, cabling, racking, labeling, and equipment setup.
• Monitor and respond to service tickets within established SLAs.
• Support user account setup and administration within systems such as Active Directory and M365.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting including DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and VPN issues.
• Participate in client onboarding, technology refreshes, and project deployments.
• Document technical procedures, solutions, and client environment details in the required systems.
• Communicate with clients professionally, providing effective and user-friendly support.
• Provide on-site support when required and participate in the scheduled on-call rotation.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required, associate's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of IT support experience, preferably in an MSP environment.
• Experience with workstation deployment, hardware installation, or end-user support.
• Familiarity with Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 11), Microsoft 365, Azure basics and Active Directory.
• Experience with RMM/PSA platforms (such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, N-able, or similar) is preferred, with training available.
• Certifications are a plus, though we are happy to provide training for motivated candidates.

Compensation

Salary: 50,000-60,000
