Regional Vice President, Commercial Lines

The salary range for this job posting is $86,744.00 - $138,790.00 annually + bonus + benefits. Pay Type: Salary. The above represents the full salary range for this job requisition. We have three openings for this leadership role with one reporting to each of the following:

  • Regional Vice President, Commercial Lines - Small Business
  • Regional Vice President, Commercial Lines - Large Accounts East
  • Regional Vice President, Commercial Lines - Large Accounts Midwest

Candidates may reside in any of our listed payroll approved states. Encova is only able to employ associates who reside and work within specific U.S. states. Our current footprint includes:

Job Objective:

The Manager, Commercial Lines Underwriting Services will manage, organize, coordinate, direct and lead commercial lines Associate Underwriters. Responsible for achieving established goals and service standards regarding underwriter support, new business, renewal and revisions within the Associate Underwriter staff. Maintain strong working knowledge of all current procedures and systems related to the core business functions noted above. Lead training and workflow improvement efforts within assigned team. Schedule and coordinate workflow and production for your area of responsibility maintaining adequate service levels. Support the needs of the Commercial Lines division by ensuring all production objectives are achieved and our quality and service standards are being met within your assigned team.

Essential Functions:

1. Successfully develop, coach and lead Associate Underwriters to achieve divisional standards and objectives by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring professional development.

2. Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of applications, renewals, documentation, and policy issuance.

3. Collaborate closely with agents, underwriters and other departments to ensure seamless workflows and capacity/coverage.

4. Use sound judgment in the management of workflow and personnel. Must effectively collaborate and communicate with RVPs as well as make appropriate independent decisions.

5. Develop, implement, and maintain underwriting support procedures, quality assurance processes, and service level agreements (SLAs).

6. Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

7. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), productivity metrics, and error rates in collaboration with analytics.

8. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and organizational requirements.

9. Act as a point of escalation for complex issues and work with stakeholders to resolve problems efficiently.

10. Lead the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new team members.

11. Contribute to cross-functional projects and system improvements as a subject matter expert in underwriting procedure.

12. Ensure all procedures / processing instructions are documented, updated as needed and distributed to appropriate associates in collaboration with the underwriting office.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience developed within insurance company or agency/broker environments required.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Prior management experience preferred.

• Individuals must demonstrate advanced knowledge of insurance business applications (ex: policy administration, customer billing, electronic data warehouse, document management systems, production, or imaging).

• Individuals must be decisive, be situationally aware and have strong communication skills.

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Solid understanding of underwriting processes, terminology, and documentation requirements.

• Ability to analyze data and generate operational reports.

• Proficiency in using underwriting or insurance management systems (e.g., Guidewire, Salesforce, etc.).

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to recognize opportunity for process improvements and efficiency.
