What You Will Do:
- Provide business and technical direction to the team in the design and adaptation of capital projects on the LP system to ensure alignment between philosophies, goals and outcomes.
- Ensure organizational objectives are translated into the team's activities and ensures integration with the work of other internal and external partners.
- Represent the team and the enterprise on external task forces, partner working groups and with regulators and/or with the public and local/provincial authorities.
- Provides technical leadership to a team of engineering professionals who provide a variety of engineering related services to assigned internal client groups for pipeline project planning, development, construction and maintenance activities.
- Oversees technical processes and solutions with regards to assessing, monitoring, reporting and implementing design and construction engineering.
- Leads the development of the project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned projects, etc.
- Ensures that development project scope definitions comply with all regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements through effective management and coordination of internal functional groups.
- Coaches and mentors other engineers, contractors and stakeholders in the fulfillment of responsibilities.
- Participates on internal and external technical committees, e.g., industry task forces, partner working groups.
Who You Are:
- Engineering degree in an applicable discipline.
- Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in engineering design and project management directly related to the transportation of liquid hydrocarbons by pipeline and oil and gas or industrial construction environment.
- Aptitude and communications skills related to leading and acting independently.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer designation.
- Extended understanding of liquids pipeline operations and of energy sectors.
Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to: Ability to work in both office and field environments, capability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, physically able to travel frequently for overnight business trips.

Include but are not limited to: High stress tolerance due to project deadlines and concurrent activities, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, outstanding organizational and time management skills.

- Office environment.
- Stress levels can be above normal as project work is deadline oriented, highly visible and numerous activities are conducted concurrently.
