TOV Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Are you passionate about Engineering and ready for your next challenge? Join us as a TOV Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Lugagnano Val d'Arda.
In this role, you will work on the design and development of triple-offset (TOV) valve mechanical systems, components, and assemblies across the product lifecycle. You will operate within a matrix organization, in close coordination with System Engineering, the Product Design Manager, the Design Authority, and other engineering and business functions.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Execute product design activities, ensuring the design process and required technical reviews are followed (design, risk, manufacturability, supply chain).
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation, and provide technical input to stakeholders.
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations (FEA / CFD), and tolerance analyses to support design decisions.
- Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) solutions.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation to ensure performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable technical regulations and standards.
- Support resolution of fleet issues and non-conformities, implementing corrective actions and design improvements (lessons learned).
- Apply structured engineering methodologies such as FMEA and root cause analysis.
- Support manufacturing operations, audits, and certification activities when required.
- Contribute to workshops, technical meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who You Are:
You are a tech-savvy mechanical engineer with a strong focus on design, calculations, and technical execution. You analyze problems using data and multiple inputs before moving to solutions. You are action-oriented, comfortable working in a changing environment, and able to take ownership of complex engineering tasks. You collaborate effectively with others and adapt quickly when priorities shift.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development/testing within an industrial environment.
- Strong background in mechanical design, structural analysis, and design-for-manufacturing.
- Solid experience with FEA / CFD tools (e.g. Ansys Structural / Thermal / CFX).
- Proficiency with PTC Creo and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and mechanical drawings.
- Experience applying DFM, FMEA, DoE, SPC, RCA, and risk analysis methods.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams within a matrix organization.
- Fluency in Italian and English; French is a plus.
- EU passport and availability to travel internationally when required.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Experience in industrial valves, preferably triple-offset valves.
- Experience with laboratory testing, verification, and validation.
- Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to metallic and non-metallic valves.
- Exposure to systems engineering frameworks (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, INCOSE).
- Experience with Six Sigma / DFSS or similar quality methodologies.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
