Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager systematically develops, supports, and implements growth strategies to achieve or exceed bookings targets for South and East Africa area. Opportunities can range from targeted competitive displacement to a specific industry application, to a defined market segment. Engaging with customers and the local sales organization represented by the local business partners under their responsibility will be essential for successful execution of the job function!

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead the Systems and Solutions Business Unit sales team for solutions, products and business development initiatives.
  • Meet or exceed territory financial objectives as required in support of the Systems and Solutions MEA business plan.
  • Direct, develop, collaborate with and support sales team and local business partners in the region.
  • Develop and implement sales a strategy for the region that deliver above market growth rates.
  • Develop and implement plans to drive and grow Africa KOB3 business and improve revenue and profit from the existing installed base.
  • Take a pro-active role in defining strategies for winning Entity KOB2 projects as well as supporting Destination KOB1/2 pursuit activities to achieve order conversion and enhance the potential for Isolation Valves Controls Business Unit.
  • Prepare and present marketing forecasts, pricing surveys, competitor intelligence and country marketing plans.
  • Work closely with other Emerson Automation Solutions Business Units and increase pull- through content.
  • Develop long-term relationships with senior management within customer accounts to ensure awareness of the capabilities of Isolation Valves Business Unit and influence buying decision.
  • Improve customer happiness by understanding, communicating, and implementing solutions to their needs.
  • Liaise with customer, Emerson Automation Solutions, and local business partners to prioritize effort, gather competitive intelligence, and improve customer service, consistent with divisional sales strategies and account plans.
  • Develop a robust project pursuit process for both entity and destination project activity.
  • Lead Site Plan proficiency development and ensure that robust plans are developed to increase KOB3 potential at critical sites.
  • Keep up to date with developments in products, industries, and market trends.
  • Keep up to date the CRM pipeline, appointment and reporting activities.
  • Ensure Emerson Ethics and trade compliance procedures are rigorously followed with all business transactions.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Degree/Diploma in a vocation such as Mechanical/Mechatronics/Instrumentation/Automation or similar engineering or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years of Sales Management experience with a proven track record locally and outside of South Africa
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building.
  • Excellent presentation and computer skills (Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
  • Regional travel will be required within the Middle East & Africa world are

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Significant experience in high-level business negotiations.
  • Excellent commercial experience with the ability to understand customers and the Emerson business environment.
  • Preferred experience within the Fluid Control/Pneumatics/PLC Scada environment
