Design Engineer (Product Engineering)

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Deliver product modifications and new design work by applying sound engineering principles, calculations, and simulation tools such as FEA or CFD.
  • Support certification and regulatory activities, contributing to complete technical files, engineering documentation, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Participate in cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives focused on improving manufacturability, reducing material use, and enhancing product performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, operations, and commercial teams to ensure designs are effectively transferred to production and aligned with customer and safety requirements.
  • Support operations by clarifying design intent, updating documentation, and working with various departments to resolve production inquiries.
  • Use ERP systems to manage Bills of Materials, engineering changes, workflows, and documentation updates.
  • Contribute to projects through all phases from concept to implementation, ensuring requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Experience as a design engineer or mechanical engineer, ideally within an engineering department where you have managed projects end-to-end.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and apply core mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience with or interest in simulation tools such as FEA.
  • Exposure to valves, pressure-containing components, or mechanical assemblies (beneficial but not required).
  • Familiarity with certification frameworks, regulatory processes, or technical documentation.
  • Strong ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts in a fast-moving technical environment.
  • Experience collaborating with factory or manufacturing teams and understanding how design decisions affect production, quality, and cost.
  • Comfort working with ERP systems and supporting cross-functional engineering and operations needs.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and clear communication.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with pressure relief devices, valves, regulators, or similar industrial products.
  • Knowledge of regulatory approval processes and requirements, including creating or maintaining technical files.
  • Background in materials engineering, especially metals such as stainless steel.
  • Experience with design validation tools such as FEA or CFD.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and working across multiple departments to deliver project phases successfully.
  • Experience in continuous improvement, value engineering, or manufacturing support.
