Journeyman Chiller Service Technician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.
2. Overhaul of centrifugal chillers a plus.
3. Familiar with all aspects of rigging.
4. Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
5. Availability for emergency service calls "on-call" through normal rotation.
6. Responsible for end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
7. Schedule and manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
8. Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment of chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
9. Ensure completion of maintenance within the scheduled month and allocated time.
10. Maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers
11. Provide technical support and troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all on-site equipment.
12. Attend monthly safety meetings.
13. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
14. Work directly with the Chiller Field Supervisor on new and existing customer opportunities or issues.

Qualifications

• 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.
• Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of Chiller, HVAC, and Central Plants.
• HVAC large tonnage field knowledge is required.
• Must be available for emergency service calls "on call" through normal rotation.
• EPA certified.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $64.37 per hour The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results. Benefits are provided through local labor union aligned with collective bargaining agreement.
