HVAC Service/Project Manager

The primary function of this role is to sell new small to medium (up to 200k) HVAC projects and recurring maintenance contracts. This position reports directly to the HVAC Service Manager. This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment with a focus on sales, prospecting for new clients, and customer service. It will require travel to potential/existing customer sites.

Essential duties and responsibilities include: growing service maintenance base by selling commercial HVAC service, products & solutions to new and existing customers, including repair service, modernization, and service agreements where applicable; maintaining relationships with customers always ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services; working with other branch personnel to ensure great customer service from the order to the delivery and beyond; performing customer surveys as required/requested; developing and maintaining vendor relations; obtaining all manufacturers’ certifications required to perform job functions, as applicable; completing proper scheduling and execution of service calls; executing all Company processes and completing all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner; reviewing and approving weekly payroll as it relates to your project; ability to accurately quote repair and project work yielding an acceptable margin upon completion; continually enhancing sales skills and product knowledge in order to promote a professional image in the field; reading architectural and mechanical drawings and determining proper procedures and methods/materials to estimate and complete projects; reviewing weekly job reports and keeping billing and labor on track; traveling to customers and job sites as required; maintaining frequent communication with HVAC Service Manager and Operations Manager; attending any and all necessary department meetings and coming well prepared; and traveling to corporate office for any necessary training and meetings.

Supervisory responsibilities include supervising and managing all HVAC work that you sell from ordering materials through purchasing to final completion of the work and confirmation of final billing.

Qualifications to perform this job successfully include: high school diploma or GED is required; 5+ years of sales experience selling HVAC is required; 5+ years of HVAC field experience or related experience is required; ability to read job specifications to determine the proper use of products is required; a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record is required; significant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications is required; excellent customer service skills are required; demonstration of a positive attitude is required; ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results is required; building positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees and management is required; demonstrating integrity and professionalism is required; demonstrating commitment to company values is required; excellent organizational skills are required; ability to follow-up on tasks and assignments in a timely manner is required; excellent written and verbal communications skills are required; ability to perform basic business mathematical functions is required; ability to work with minimal supervision is required; ability to work effectively in a team environment is required; and complying with all operating policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs is required.

Language skills must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, government agencies, customers, vendors, and suppliers.

Physical requirements include sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing regularly; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls occasionally; walking and reaching with hands and arms occasionally; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; light work which entails exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; and environmental conditions including inside, outside, extreme hot, extreme cold, fumes, odors, toxic conditions, dust poor ventilation, hazards, humid, loud noises, vibrations, and wet. This position frequently requires protective equipment for eyes and head and occasionally for arms, feet, hearing, full body, leg, respirator, and skin. Operation of a computer, telephone, drawing/drafting tools, hand calculator, copiers/fax machine are required. The employee must be able to understand simple math, statistics, simple drawings, technical reports, technical instructions, financial reports, layout work, legal documents, simple memos, and business letters. The employee also must be able to write or present simple memos, summaries, business letters, technical reports, speeches, and formal presentations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to customer and company locations by land and air.
