The Mechanical Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, is inviting applicants for a non-tenure track temporary faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. This is a teaching position with an expectation of teaching four sections the Spring 2026 semester.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire to focus on innovative and high-quality instruction in a collegial and collaborative environment and will hold an earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates with prior teaching and/or industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
Candidates are expected to be capable of teaching undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering and engineering sciences. Course sections typically range from 15-40 students. Particular areas of interest include: dynamics, thermodynamics, materials, instrumentation, and controls.
This position requires physical presence at the Daytona Beach Campus. Relocation to the Daytona Beach, FL, area is required; applicants seeking purely remote work will not be considered.
The Mechanical Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, serves over 500 students at the BS, MS, and PhD levels. The department features undergraduate tracks in High-Performance Vehicles, Robotics & Autonomous Systems, Energy Systems, and Biomedical Systems.
