Responsible for the preparation, storage, and distribution of medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirement:
Training as per State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Acute care experience preferred. Must have knowledge of trade/generic drug names and aseptic technique for the preparation of all types of IVs. Must be able to perform mathematical calculations and have sufficient typing skills for computer order entry. Needs general understanding of pharmacy computer applications, and be able to use common reference material. Able to withstand stress of high activity area. Proficiency in English (verbal and written skills) in order to communicate effectively. Excellent customer service skills.
Minimum License Requirement:
Pharmacy Technician License is required. BLS or ACLS required (ICH/QVH only). Annual 2 hours of stroke education required for those working at QVH. Delivering world-class health care one patient at a time.
