Responsible for the procurement, storage and distribution of all drugs in accordance with the policies and regulations of local, state and federal mandates as well as accepted standards of practice. Also responsible for performing clinical consults according to pharmacy guidelines and conducting ongoing drug utilization review to promote effective, safe and efficient use of medications. Supervises technicians to optimize workflow and resource utilization. Actively participates in CQI activities.
Pharm. D. degree preferred. High level of English verbal and written skills in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, patients, nurses and physicians.
A minimum of two years' experience as a pharmacist in a hospital practice preferred. Experience with pharmacy computerization, supervision of technicians, and knowledge and experience in clinical aspects of pharmacy preferred. Excellent customer service skills.
Current registration and licensure in California as a pharmacist. BLS or ACLS required (ICH/QVH only). Annual 2 hours of stroke education required for those working at QVH.
