 
                                                
                                            The monitor tech observes and interprets patients' cardiac rhythm status and listens for alarms. Informs the RN of variances to initiate examination of the patient. Greets people at the nurses' station and answers their questions or refers them to appropriate staff members. Transcribes medical orders. Performs unit based non-clinical duties related to the admission, discharge and transfer of patients. Organizes activities at the nurses' station. Accepts patient medications from pharmacy or tube station and gives directly to the charge nurse or assigned nurse.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred. Unit Secretarial course preferred. EKG interpretation class required.
b. Minimum Experience Requirement: Prior unit secretary experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills required.
c. Minimum License Requirement: BLS required.
Assaultive Behavior Training Certification that meets AB508 and SB1299 required within 30 days of hire/transfer. New hires that have completed Assaultive Behavior training outside of Emanate Health will be required to complete Emanate Health Work Place Violence online awareness module within 30 days of hire/transfer.
