The Cancer Center Coordinator is responsible for the accurate, courteous, professional and timely processing of all Ambulatory clinic and acute treatment registrations and verification process of insurance coverage per hospital and department policy and procedures. Verifies insurance eligibility/benefits, obtains authorizations, requests and accurately documents patient's financial responsibility. Ensure patient account is ready for billing and collections. Prepares and coordinates all referrals. Arrange appointments on behalf of patients. Answers incoming calls and communicates with patients to ensure follow-through with referrals. Supports office in synchronizing appointments, authorizations and test in other clinics. This position provides documentation support, communication enhancements and other support activities in the coordination of patient care.
Minimum Education Requirement:
High School or equivalent preferred. Bilingual preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Three to five years in healthcare setting, especially in an oncology practice preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Computer skills for data entry. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Admission/registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
