Would you like to be part of a team that delivers high-quality software to our customers? Are you a highly visible champion with a 'can do' attitude and enthusiasm that inspires others?
The Research Data Platform (RDP) is Elsevier's core data platform for research content and analytics. It provides high-quality, well-governed data about documents, works, people, organizations, funders, concepts and indicators, and the relationships between them. RDP ingests and normalizes data from multiple sources, links and enriches that data, and exposes it through reliable services and data products that power flagship products such as Scopus, SciVal, Pure, Digital Commons and others. It combines product, engineering, operations and data science teams to deliver shared capabilities like data ingestion pipelines, matching and disambiguation, curation tools, analytics, and MLOps. RDP is organized into cross-functional domain teams (for example Document, Sources, Works, Person, Organization, Funding, Concepts, Indicators and Consumption), supported by platform and foundations teams providing common infrastructure (AWS, Kafka, Databricks, DSM, Kubernetes), shared utilities and standards for data quality, observability and ways of working. Each team owns a set of services and data products end-to-end, from design and build through to operation and continuous improvement. For a Quality Engineer and a Developer, this means working in close partnership with product managers, data scientists and operations colleagues: designing and evolving services and pipelines, putting robust automated testing and quality gates around data and code, and helping ensure that RDP delivers reliable, scalable, secure data capabilities that other Elsevier products can safely build on.
