Strategic Account Manager

This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week (Tuesday/Thursday preferred), fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for the growth and retention of existing accounts to include upsells to a higher level of products/services based on business size and scope. Acts as a resource to team members and may assist with on-boarding of new sales associates. This position is represented by Local 153 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.

How you will make an impact:

  • Achieve retention and growth targets through expert execution of sales process.
  • Cultivate deep trust-based relationships and develop comprehensive understandings of client needs and priorities.
  • Act as a consultative collaborative partner with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers.
  • Develop strategic business plans to address broker and/or client needs. Conduct broker/agency education on pertinent topics. Acts as primary customer contact.
  • Coordinate with internal partners to meet and exceed client expectations. Drives opportunities for additional growth and product sales.
  • Be an industry and product expert at the local, state, and federal level; continuously updates knowledge in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Provides consultative and strategic sales knowledge to Large Groups with a solid understanding of client and company objectives.
  • Acts as a resource to team members and may assist with on-boarding of new sales associates.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 6 years of sales experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Sales license required where necessary or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience with office tools, cloud-based software, social media & collaboration tools strongly preferred.
  • Insurance background preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally preferred.
  • Client facing experience preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $102,048 to $153,072. Locations: New York. In addition to your salary, Elevance Health offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
