Elder Research Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MANTECH international Corporation seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Development SME to join our team in Lanham, MD.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Insider Threat Development SME provides strategic subject matter expertise in designing, evolving, and validating analytic capabilities within a formal insider threat program. This individual is responsible for defining behavioral detection logic, developing advanced UEBA use cases, and building risk scoring models. The SME works across stakeholder groups to align detection strategies with mission priorities and ensures that the analytic framework remains effective and aligned to emerging insider threat tactics and data sources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The Insider Threat Development SME must possess significant experience in the Insider Threat domain, including familiarity with common UEBA tools, knowledge of historical and awareness of potential future Insider Threat tactics, and current risk scoring modeling approaches. The following experience or skills are necessary to perform successfully in this role:
  • Ability to innovatively apply the latest User Behavior Analytics' analytics techniques, technologies, industry standards, processes, procedures, and best practices to existing operations.
  • Success in implementing and supporting this capability within the Financial Services Industry or US Intelligence Community.
  • Success in implementing User Behavior Analytics governance processes; specifically, the discipline to organize reporting, analytics and manipulate data to support analytical models and filters.
  • Expertise in Data Extraction, specifically the ability to obtain data from variant sources and manipulate the data to support many analytical models and filters.
  • Ability to articulate as well as support a visionary approach that will position the IRS to successfully deter, detect, and mitigate near and long-term cyber threats from a User Behavior Analytics.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to integrate data mining results with existing systems and monitor data mining systems performance and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Ability in working cohesively and productively with various levels of management to include technicians that reflects a mature understanding of operations and organizational dynamics.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active IRS Public Trust w/ Background Investigation or DOD Secret and above

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
