And we're looking for a Display Engineer!

E Ink is seeking a curious and highly motivated engineer to join our team in inventing and developing advanced driving methods for e-Paper display technology, enabling novel capabilities and features for future products. In this role, you will contribute to new display product development by designing and executing electro-optical experiments and performing in-depth analysis of display performance.

As a key member of a lean and highly visible team, you will take ownership of challenging exploratory projects that drive product improvements and enable new products, within a culture of open review and rigorous technical discussion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of E Ink display technology through hands-on work with cameras, controllers, and complete system setups used to drive and characterize electro-optical display performance
  • Define performance metrics and design, execute, and analyze controlled experiments to investigate display phenomena and anomalies, identify root causes, and address fundamental technical challenges
  • Support the development and evaluation of new materials and emerging technologies
  • Support customer-facing data collection and issue investigation
  • Document experimental methods, results, and conclusions, and present findings clearly to technical stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Signal Processing, or a related field
  • Strong hands-on aptitude with a passion for laboratory-based research and experimentation
  • Demonstrated experience designing controlled experiments, performing detailed data analysis, and drawing sound technical conclusions
  • Programming experience required, with strong preference for proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve real hardware systems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic team environment

Preferences:

  • Experience with cameras, optical systems, electronic devices, and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators

Salary Range Disclosure: The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000, not including any variable pay. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other variable pay components. The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
