Clerical Warehouse Claims & Damages Support Staff

We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Clerical Warehouse Claims & Damages Support Staff member to assist with processing, tracking, and resolving claims related to damaged or missing inventory. This position plays a vital role in helping maintain inventory accuracy, ensuring timely resolution of issues, and supporting the warehouse operations team with administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Log and document all damaged, missing, or returned items from shipments
- Initiate and track claims with carriers, vendors, or internal departments
- Collect, organize, and maintain evidence (photos, reports, packing slips, etc.) for each claim
- Communicate with warehouse staff, drivers, suppliers, and customer service teams regarding claim status
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on claims, damages, and resolutions
- Update inventory systems to reflect claims or adjustments
- Assist with quality control checks and damage assessments as needed
- Maintain filing systems and records, both digital and physical
- Support clerical needs within the warehouse office environment
Working Conditions
- Primarily warehouse based some office work
- Exposure to warehouse floor for inspection and documentation of damaged goods
Qualifications
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); additional training in logistics or inventory control is a plus
- Minimum 1 year of clerical or administrative experience (warehouse or logistics setting preferred)
- Familiarity with claim processes and basic shipping documentation
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to follow through with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with claims in transportation and warehouse distribution
- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in warehouse settings
