Field Service Technician

Ecolab Healthcare ANZ works closely with hospitals and clinical environments to provide specialised infection control solutions, including endoscopy reprocessing systems, sterilisation technologies, and ongoing technical service support.
An opportunity has become available for a Field Service Technician to join the NSW Service team, supporting customers across Sydney and regional New South Wales.
This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialised healthcare equipment, particularly endoscopy reprocessing systems and associated infection control technologies. These systems are critical to ensuring medical instruments are effectively cleaned, disinfected, and safe for patient use.
Working within hospital and day surgery environments, you will play a key role in maintaining equipment performance, ensuring compliance with strict healthcare standards, and supporting safe clinical operations.
The position is field based, reporting to the Service Manager, with travel across Sydney metro and regional areas, including occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of electro-mechanical healthcare equipment
- Service and support endoscopy reprocessing systems and related infection control equipment
- Conduct equipment inspections, testing, and calibration to ensure optimal performance and compliance
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and fluid system faults, including pumps, valves, and motors
- Install and commission equipment at customer sites
- Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and compliance reporting
- Work closely with hospital staff and stakeholders to ensure equipment readiness and reliability
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in clinical environments
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Restricted Electrical Licence (Disconnect/Reconnect) or the ability to obtain
- Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline
- Experience servicing electro-mechanical equipment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
Highly Regarded Backgrounds
- Appliance or whitegoods servicing such as dishwashers and washing machines
- Coffee machine or beverage equipment servicing
- Water-based or fluid-handling systems
- Medical device or healthcare equipment servicing
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and control circuits
- Exposure to pumps, valves, steam, or pneumatic systems
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs

Location and Travel
- Sydney-based role
- Regular travel across metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW
- Approximately one to two overnight trips per month, including regional areas such as Orange and Bathurst
