About the Team

The Regional Development team is based in Dreilinden (Berlin) and is part of the Global Technology organisation. We enable commerce at scale and have massive customer impact. Whilst doing all this, we are on a mission to improve eBay technology, drive agile adoption and demonstrate customer-centric development. We currently focus on improving the buying experience for our international buyers, ensuring eBay a truly global shipping destination. To do this, we improve existing experiences, build or extend core products and experiment with new innovations to make the lives of eBay customers better.

We are continually striving for the highest quality, and work in small focused teams following bits of Scrum, bits of Kanban, with a healthy dose of Extreme Programming (p.s. these aren't buzzwords, we mean it when we say we do this stuff).

Our cross-functional teams have Product Management, engineers across all platforms, and UX all working together every day. We closely collaborate with other eBay development teams around the globe.

What You Will Accomplish

• Coordinate and collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to identify problems, come up with creative solutions, and help with tracking and delivering within the release plan.
• Translate requirements to software design and create clean, efficient, extensible, maintainable crash-free code that is aligned with native platform guidelines.
• Follow agile practices and focus on continual improvement in our practices, driven from the ground up. We expect you to advocate for improvements in code and culture, and to support your colleagues in the same.
• Partner and collaborate with other cross-functional teams from different organizations throughout eBay.
• As part of the team, you'll share your knowledge with the wider group while also learning about and contributing to our core app experience.
• Lead and improve E2E testing quality and increase delivery velocity across features.
• Understand and implement iOS specific design patterns and experience with Xcode, Swift, SwiftUI, network debugging (e.g. Charles), revision control systems (e.g. Git) and issue tracking (e.g. Jira).

What You Will Bring

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, refactoring, and releasing native applications.
• Innovative, team player, excellent communication and decision-making with strong sense of ownership and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in Swift,SwiftUI, including advanced language features such as generics and concurrency. GraphQL is a plus.
• Proven ability to maintain high-quality code and resiliency through techniques such as testing, pairing, and code reviews.
• Deep experience in unit testing and functional UI testing with XCTest / XCUITest, SwiftTesting, and a strong understanding of SOLID principles.
• Experience with modern design patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, RIBS, etc.
• Able to own a feature of an iOS application and develop it fully.
