eBay, a global leader in eCommerce headquartered in San Jose, California, is seeking a Director, Strategy & Operations to lead strategic direction and execution for the Vehicles business, part of the broader eBay GFC (Global Focus Category) portfolio.
As a key member of the eBay GFC leadership team, this leader will own the strategy and operations roadmap for Vehicles, driving the business toward its ambitious growth goals for FY26 and beyond. This role represents an exceptional opportunity to shape one of eBay's most strategically important categories and to help define the future of automotive commerce.
If you are a strategic operator who thrives on solving complex challenges, leading teams, and delivering business transformation at scale within a purpose-driven, customer-focused company—eBay is the place for you.
Vehicles have historically been a foundational growth driver for eBay. In recent years, the category has evolved rapidly alongside shifts in customer behavior and increased specialization across the automotive landscape. eBay has responded with renewed strategic focus—investing heavily in building trust, accelerating innovation, and delivering seamless customer experiences that connect both enthusiasts and everyday buyers.
As of FY25, Vehicles has been established as a focus category for accelerated investment and long-term category leadership. A key pillar of this evolution is Caramel, a recently acquired automotive checkout and services platform that enhances trust and reduces complexity in peer-to-peer car transactions. Caramel remains an integral part of the Vehicles growth strategy—expanding the scope of services eBay can offer across financing, logistics, insurance, and secure payments.
The Director of Strategy & Operations will lead both the strategic direction of the Vehicles business—including Caramel—and the operational delivery of those strategic priorities.
This is a people leadership role, responsible for managing a team that drives strategic analysis, business planning, operational execution, and integration across the Vehicles and Caramel businesses.
