We are looking for a dynamic, collaborative, and curious Staff Engineer to design, build and operate agent-based systems where agents use composable skills to accomplish end-to-end tasks. You will define AI workflows (planning, tool-use, memory, evaluation, governance), ship production services and APIs, and mentor teams to deliver reliable AI outcomes at global marketplace scale.
What You Will Do:
- Architect agentic systems: plan/execute loops with explicit state; design composable skills; ground with memory and citations.
- Build AI workflows: orchestrate task DAGs/state machines with retries, DLQ, idempotency, and SLAs.
- Operate event pipelines: stream on Kafka with backpressure, observability, and failure recovery.
- Ship services/APIs: expose REST/GraphQL endpoints for orchestration, inference, enrichment, and evaluation.
- Implement RAG: index, retrieve, rank, and cite with policy guardrails and prompt hardening.
- Evaluate/govern: offline/online evals, A/B/canary rollouts, audit trails, versioning, and risk classes.
- Integrate stacks: backend (Node/Java/Scala/C++), web (Marko/React/TS), data (Oracle/NoSQL), platform (Kubernetes).
- Mentor and OSS: share libraries/patterns; elevate reliability, safety, and engineering quality.
What You Will Bring:
- BS/BA in Computer Science or related field 10 plus years work experience or MS with 8 plus experience
- Experience on software design and development experience, solid foundation in computer science with strong proficiencies in system architecture, distributed systems, data structures, algorithms, OOPs, OOA/D and Functional programming
- Experience with Node JS, Javascript, Java, Scala, Oracle/NOSQL DBs
- Experience building web and RESTful applications
- Experience working with frameworks such as Spring MVC
- Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms
- Strong applied experience. You've built, broken, and rebuilt software applications.
- Creative thinker who knows how to create real-world products.
- Code samples from private GitHub repos, side projects, and open source project contributions is a plus
- Excellent decision-making, communication, collaboration, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
