Eaton's ES AMER PCS ICD division is currently seeking a Technician.ENG.Lab Operations.Electronic Testing.

What you'll do:

Provide support in the operations of the Laboratories of the Santo Domingo Design Center (SDDC) and Haina for the ICD division, in product failure analysis and root cause analysis. Conduct product and parts testing, sample construction, and other activities related to the Design/PLS department in quality issues, development projects, cost reduction projects, and product transfers.

Funciones esenciales:

1. Provide support in the operations of the Laboratories of the Santo Domingo Design Center (SDDC) and Haina for the ICD division, in product failure analysis and root cause analysis in Industrial Controls products such as starters, contactors, Soft Starters, VFD, Push Buttons, etc. Conduct product and parts testing, sample construction, and other activities related to the Design/PLS department in quality issues, development projects, cost reduction projects, and product transfers.

2. Conduct UL/CSA and other required product standards tests, which may include but are not limited to: Pickup, Drop Out, MLT, Noise Voltage, Bounce, Overtravel, tests in controlled environments, tests requiring Oscilloscope programming, Remote Testing, thermal tests, tests in controlled humidity and temperature environments, among others.

3. Prepare test reports and analysis to design engineers in the established formats precisely and on time, using Six Sigma tools and other statistical tools.

4. Analyze faults and troubleshoot problems in electronic PCBA cards and their implications in embedded systems.

5. Provide support in continuous improvement projects and capital projects for laboratories, such as the implementation of new test equipment, test improvements, etc.

6. Basic analysis and design of analog, digital, and logical circuits.

7. Assist in the programming and automation of tests using PLCs or Microcontrollers for applicable laboratory tests.

8. Coordinate controlled runs in production environment.

9. Procure the necessary material to work with the required laboratory tests including SDDC and Haina facilities.

10. Provide support to the development and introduction of new designs and perform dimensional analysis of parts used in products.

11. Interpret specifications in drawings associated with parts and tests, EBOMs, MBOMs, DWGs, etc.

12. Ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment and their calibration.

13. Prepare work instructions and risk analysis of laboratory test stations.

14. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the test laboratories. Work continuously to improve laboratory 5S and dispose of scrap in time.

14. Conduct shipments of components/products/others required in the Design Engineering department.

Qualifications:

Conocimiento especializado:

• Student of Engineering careers - areas of Mechatronics/Electronics/Electrical with 120 approved credits.

• Six (6) months of related experience in similar functions including internships.

• Intermediate English proficiency.

• Intermediate knowledge in the use of electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, power meters, among others.

• PLC or microcontroller programming (Preferred).

• Advanced PC skills (Windows / Office: Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Knowledge of CAD modeling programs, such as Solidworks, AutoCad, Creo, etc.

• Basic knowledge of statistics and six sigma.
