Senior Quality Engineering Manager

Eaton's IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Manager. The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You'll Do:

The Senior Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for implementing Eaton's Zero Defect Process (E-ZDP) and overseeing the internal audit program. Designed to eliminate errors through proactive prevention, the E-ZDP framework will be applied across new product development as well as existing, legacy programs under this role's guidance.

• Manage, coach, mentor the Quality Development Engineering, Auditing, and Material Review Board teams.

• Manage the Eaton Zero Defect Process (E-ZDP) program.

• Lead quality deployment for new products, processes, and services through PROLaunch, ensuring readiness, risk mitigation, and compliance prior to launch.

• Drive strategic quality initiatives focused on continuous improvement, preventive quality, and risk based thinking across products, processes, and services, including PFMEA/DFMEA oversight and error proofing at the source.

• Direct internal, customer, and third party audit activities, ensuring timely closure and effectiveness of corrective actions and organizational compliance.

• Lead and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives, including 8D problem solving, Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, and other structured methodologies.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management, supervision, or team leadership experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related field.
  • Relocation is not provided. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Relocation is not provided. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Eaton's Orchard Park, NY facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

• AS9100 Lead Auditor Training

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer

• Experience in problem solving techniques (eg. 5 Why, 8D, A3).

• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

• Knowledge of Quality Control systems and techniques, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, including statistical quality control and inspection and investigation techniques.

• Experienced in use of continuous improvement lean manufacturing principles and scrap reduction tools (5S+, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, Standard Work, and Poka-Yoke).

• Experienced in use of AIAG quality tools to reduce variability and mitigate risk (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC).

• Experience working with FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) standards

Skills:

• Ability to interface at all levels.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Good time-management skills.

• High level of computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Administrative skills required to guide product quality, employee involvement, and productivity programs.

• Highly developed human relations, communications, and internal consulting skills necessary to establish and maintain effective work relationships with the various plant functions, customer and supplier personnel.
