Senior Design Engineer – Switch Disconnector Product Range
This is a key technical leadership role within our switching portfolio, driving innovation, product excellence, and continuous improvement across a strategically important product range. You'll take ownership of new product development, lifecycle management, and value-engineering initiatives, working at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and global engineering functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end design projects for new switching products and enhancements to the existing portfolio, including 3D modelling, detailed engineering drawings, and complex product assemblies.
Provide technical direction to engineers and cross-functional teams both locally and internationally, collaborating closely with Simulation, Data Management, Technical Support, Product Management, and other specialist groups.
Partner with the manufacturing plant to ensure designs are production-ready, support industrialisation activities, and resolve technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
Own all supporting engineering documentation, including FMEAs, technical files, and Engineering Change Notices, ensuring compliance and robust design governance.
Develop and execute test plans aligned to relevant standards, working with internal and external laboratories to validate performance and reliability.
Drive innovation and intellectual property creation, contributing to the long-term competitiveness and differentiation of the product range.
