The Southwall Europe GmbH in Großröhrsdorf is a subsidiary of the EASTMAN Chemical Company. At the Großröhrsdorf site, innovative products are manufactured and developed through coating thin plastic films in the roll-to-roll process. The products are used in building glazing, as sun protection in vehicles, in areas of flexible electronics, medical technology, and in the foliation of car body parts.

We are looking for a Design Engineer in the field of thin-film coating for our plant in Großröhrsdorf at the earliest possible date or by agreement.

Your Responsibilities

• Collaboration in the selection, approval, and monitoring of new equipment and processes
• Design and support of manufacturing and commissioning of technical equipment
• Development and documentation of machines, testing procedures, and work instructions
• Determination of suitable technical equipment, development of specifications
• Maintenance and management
• Leadership and support in projects
• Interface between the process engineers and production, but also other production-related departments in the technical area
• International cooperation with our colleagues at other locations as well as with customers and external partners
• Instruction of production and maintenance personnel

Qualifications

• Technical or university degree in process engineering or mechanical engineering
• At least 3 years of professional experience and good computer skills, especially CAD (SolidWorks)
• Analytical, solution-oriented, structured working method and high resilience
• Good team and communication skills, self-initiative, and independence
• Very good German and English skills in speech and writing
• Very good knowledge of MS Office
