People Operations Specialist

As a People Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Human Resources in a manufacturing environment. You will work hand in hand with the HR Director and the site leadership teams to develop and implement company policy and strategies which enable delivering positive business and financial results. Other duties include:

  • Demonstrate and be committed to the pursuit of zero harm through behavioral safety leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives, and regulations.
  • Live and foster the Dyno Nobel Limited Corporate Values.
  • Responsible for the process of bi-weekly payroll entry for all plant employees including time adjustments and corrections as needed.
  • Responsible for providing basic administrative support for the plant.
  • Works closely with the site leadership teams to ensure our business culture is driven by our company values.
  • Works with the Talent Acquisition Team as well as plant management with internal and external recruitment efforts, including requisition approvals, internal postings, external recruiting, interviewing and selection of employees.
  • Supports the site management team in understanding and applying of all employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Administers company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook as well as local practices - recommend changes, additions and/or deletions as may be appropriate.
  • Provides coaching and training to employees and management for selection and promotion processes, terminations, employee relations, employment law, performance management, and other regulatory required programs, as determined.
  • Develop effective working relationships while influencing and challenging the site management teams.
  • Receive, sort, process post mail and delivery of special parcels including dangerous goods.
  • Provide meeting support with refreshments and meal ordering/organization.
  • Assist with administrative activities around office supplies and ordering.
  • Enter Good Receipts as needed – all non-maintenance site purchases which entails proof of delivery.
  • Data entry as needed for safety related initiatives or plant related functions.
  • Organize local newsletter for plant wide distribution as needed.
  • Oversees the administration of all company compensation and benefits programs including local pay practices to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate degree in Business or related field desired
  • 2+ years minimum HR/Administrative preferred
  • Experience with processing and understanding payroll and payroll systems.
  • Ability to learn and work in business systems such as SAP and Learning Management Software.
  • Ability to listen, understand and process technical data
  • Knowledge of Labor and Employment regulations
  • Ability to support Learning Management System integration and employee interaction.
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively in both written and verbal manner
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
