As a Legal Assistant, you will support a Paralegal and assist with tasks that keep cases running smoothly, from document preparation to client communication. You'll help ensure every family law case is handled efficiently and with care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing complex information, collaborating with a small team, and making a tangible difference for clients during important life events. Monthly Compensation: 1,150 to 1,220 USD
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Document Management:
- Assist in drafting and preparing legal documents such as petitions, motions, affidavits, and agreements.
- Review and proofread documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal procedures.
- Organize and maintain electronic files following firm protocols.
- Case Management Support:
- Assist the Paralegal in managing case files, including tracking deadlines, court dates, and documents.
- Prepare and maintain case summaries, client files, and other legal materials.
- Ensure timely follow-up on case matters and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts as directed.
- Client Communication:
- Draft client correspondence and maintain communication via phone, email, or client portal.
- Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Provide clients with necessary forms, instructions, and information regarding their cases.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in scheduling client meetings, court appearances, and other appointments.
- Perform general office tasks such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring proper distribution and filing.
- Legal Research:
- Assist with legal research on case law, statutes, and family law issues as needed.
- Help the Paralegal prepare for hearings or trials by gathering relevant information and evidence.
- Collaborative Work:
- Work closely with the Paralegal and attorney to ensure smooth workflow and case progress.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss case statuses and updates.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a legal setting (family law preferred)
- 1–2 years of experience in a legal assistant or administrative role
- Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures, particularly in family law
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
