Operations Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Fremantle team in a hands-on role. Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, the Operations Supervisor will oversee vessel and landside operations, manage operational staff and equipment, while ensuring safety, productivity, customer service and financial performance targets are consistently met.
This full-time role is ideal for someone with proven management experience in a fast-paced operational environment and offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the success of our Fremantle operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and manage operational activities to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations, landside operations and labour allocation.
- Lead, motivate and develop teams to perform their roles safely and productively, in line with operational plans and customer and business expectations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive improved business outcomes.
- Apply effective planning strategies to identify and deliver continuous improvements in operational performance.
- Conduct regular safety interactions to support employee development and ensure compliance with WHS&E requirements and safe work practices.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture aligned with DP World's principles and values.
Experience, skills & qualifications:
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a similar role within a container terminal environment
- Proven leadership and people management capability, supported by tertiary qualification eg Management, Business Administration or other relevant fields
- Strong operational capability, with the ability to interpret and apply performance metrics, data and KPIs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate across teams.
- Working knowledge of terminal and road operations, labour planning, and competency-based training and development.
- Strong safety focus, with knowledge of relevant WHS and environmental legislation, and high-level computer literacy across terminal and rostering systems.
