Primary Position Objectives: To oversee and plan to see that all the activities are carried out in safe manner in his shift and report to his superior.
Key responsibilities:
• Play a role in developing safe work culture that embraces zero harm through health, safety and environmental awareness as per DP World HSE policy and standards.
• To carry out Tool talk, conducting Mock Drills, Safety Campaigns etc.
• To effectively implement Consequence Management Procedure.
• Plan and conduct awareness programs and activities during the Safety and Environment day and maintain the Safety employee of month / year award scheme.
• To discharge the day to day activities including permit to work (PTW) as assigned by the line manager.
• To give induction training whenever required.
• To co-ordinate with the Shift Superintendent for intervention and correcting all unsafe activities and unsafe conditions and use Stop Work Authority as appropriate.
• To report all the near misses/hazard etc.
• To approve bunkering activity as per the procedure.
• To investigate accidents in his shift.
Qualifications & Competencies:
• A Degree or Diploma in safety with minimum 400 hours of training in the field of safety and Environment.
• Certificate in NEBOSH course (desirable)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial safety preferably ports and terminals/Marine.
• Good Communication skills in English language (both oral and written) and well conversant in local language.
• Knowledge of conducting tool talk, mock drill and campaign.
• Knowledge of computer skills and making MIS reports.
