✨ About The Role
- Opportunity to work on a real-time logistics platform for DoorDash's three-sided marketplace of consumers, merchants, and dashers
- Utilize advanced optimization and machine learning techniques to maximize value for consumers, dashers, merchants, and DoorDash
- Extract insights from logistics data through analysis and modeling to improve dispatching decisions
- Collaborate with various teams to develop cross-cutting and scalable solutions that drive value for users
- Hybrid role reporting to an Operations Research manager
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced professional with a PhD or master's degree in operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of research or industry experience working on complex optimization problems through mathematical programming or metaheuristics
- Proficient in programming fundamentals, with experience in object-oriented and functional programming languages, and a strong understanding of algorithms
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business operators to develop scalable solutions
- Excited about designing and implementing new algorithm components within a production dispatching system to meet emerging requirements
