This posting is for a Senior Project Engineer position in the Test Systems team within Donaldson's Test Systems team. The Test Systems team is a cross-functional engineering team responsible for developing and purchasing filtration test equipment for use in Donaldson global laboratories. The Senior Project Engineer will serve as the technical project lead and provide mechanical engineering support for equipment build projects. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule at our Bloomington, MN office.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design effort for assigned capital equipment build projects
• Manage work on industrial equipment build projects and engage in project management activities; sharing project updates in the form of technical documentation and/or presentations to senior management
• Lead project requirements gathering and documentation for custom equipment build projects; coordinating with teams in R&D, business units, and operations to ensure all critical project requirements are formalized and well understood
• Serve as technical voice for Test Systems team in customer report outs
• Review cross-functional (Electrical, Mechanical, Safety, Software) equipment design and support cross-functional troubleshooting
• Include critical safety and hazard mitigation design elements into equipment and process
• Contribute to process improvement efforts for the Test Systems team
• Design, lead, and execute plans to validate equipment acceptability for production release
• Lead service request resolution for globally deployed laboratory test equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university (or equivalent applicable engineering degree)
• 5+ years engineering experience
• Experience designing and purchasing industrial equipment
• Hydraulic and Pneumatic design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ISO 12100 and ISO 13849 compliant controls systems
• Experience running FAT and SAT testing for industrial Equipment
• SolidWorks proficiency
• Ability to communicate effectively to small and large groups, including senior leadership
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong leadership skills

Travel: Up to 10%

Annual Salary Range: $86,200 - $111,000. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
