Lead Team Member

Popshelf's seeks to provide fun finds for less through a fun and stress-free shopping destination for everyday and special items. We make it easy for customers to affordably treat themselves with most items priced under $5 and a selection of extreme value items priced above $5. Popshelf stores offer a trendy and rotating selection of seasonal, houseware, home décor, health, beauty, paper and party products, in addition to assorted candy, snacks, games, electronics, and additional items. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, well-organized store and creating a customer first store culture through exceptional store standards. The lead team member assists customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operates a cash register, stocks and recovers merchandise, cleans the store, and performs other duties as assigned by the store team leader to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

Duties and essential job functions include: providing superior customer service to exceed customer expectations, modeling product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance the customer experience, maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized store environment that delights customers and employees, assisting in merchandising the store in a manner that is appealing to customers, rotating product to create eye-catching displays to drive sales, completing daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities to provide a superior customer shopping experience, ensuring store condense and reset standards are maintained consistently each day to provide a clutter-free customer shopping experience, following company policies and procedures, operating cash register and scanner, cleaning the store, assisting customers in self-checkout process, opening and closing the store, and performing additional duties as necessary.

Knowledge and skills required include effective interpersonal and oral communication skills, understanding of safety policies and practices, ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides, ability to perform mathematical calculations, ability to perform cash register functions, and knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.

Work experience and/or education preferred includes a high school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training). Working conditions and physical requirements include frequent walking and standing, frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds, occasional climbing, ability to drive own vehicle, fast-paced environment, moderate noise level, exposure to strong scents and fragrances, occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, and occasional exposure to wet floor surfaces and household and industrial cleaning solutions.
