Dollar General Cashier/Stocker Position

We are looking for a cashier and/or stocker to function in a lead capacity in the absence of the store manager or assistant store manager. The role involves assisting in setting and maintaining plan-ograms, providing exemplary customer service, and performing other duties to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork, while protecting company assets and reducing losses.
The duties and essential job functions include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, restocking returned and recovered merchandise, ordering zones and drop shipment categories, assisting in plan-o-gram implementation, assisting customers, maintaining store cleanliness, and following company policies and procedures.
Qualifications include the ability to perform mathematical calculations, knowledge of cash handling procedures, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and understanding of safety policies and practices. High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) is preferred.
Working conditions involve frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds, occasional climbing, and exposure to a fast-paced environment with occasional noise and outside weather conditions.
The new hire starting pay range is $17.00 - $17.25.
