We are looking for a dedicated individual to function as a cashier and/or stocker and act in a lead capacity in the absence of the store manager or assistant store manager. The role involves assisting in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, providing exemplary customer service, and performing other duties to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork, while protecting company assets and reducing losses.
Duties and essential job functions include unloading trucks, following company work processes, stocking merchandise, restocking returned and recovered merchandise, assisting in plan-o-gram implementation, assisting customers by locating merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, operating cash register, collecting payment, and providing superior customer service leadership.
Qualifications include the ability to perform mathematical calculations, knowledge of cash handling procedures, effective interpersonal and communication skills, understanding of safety policies, and ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance. High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) is preferred.
Working conditions involve frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling; handling merchandise and equipment; lifting up to 40 pounds; occasional climbing; fast-paced environment; moderate noise level; occasional exposure to outside weather conditions; and occasional or regular driving to make bank deposits, attend management meetings, and travel to other Dollar General stores.
