Responsibilities
To supervise the hourly Human Resources staff members; partner with Department and Terminal management, and to assist the Director of Human Resources as needed.
Essential duties include:
- Oversee the activities of the Human Resource Administrative staff (including coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, and performance reviews)
- Train and develop Human Resources Administrative staff to advance their skills
- Develop and support many reports/queries and analyze, evaluate and interpret data from key HR software systems and other sources
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement benefits and other personnel packages
- Works with recruiting team on hiring initiatives/trends
- Partners with HR Business Partner and HR Generalist on complex investigations
- Oversee essential HR audits as needed
- Answer employee inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Oversee the maintenance of employee data in multiple data bases and software systems
- Perform disciplinary investigations and draft corrective action documents
- Administer Office Hourly Employee and Maintenance Performance Appraisal program
- Actively participate in Engagement Survey process and implementations of engagement programs
- Assists the Director of Human Resources on the HR Action Plan
- Complete responses, attend hearings, and perform other functions in the unemployment process
- Attend and actively participate in meetings as required
- Draft and design written communication and company postings
- Coordinate and oversee company events
- Manage the maintenance of personnel records in compliance with laws
- Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
- Handle confidential matters with discretion
- Manage multiple duties simultaneously
- Complete various special projects as needed
- Provide assistance to the Director of Human Resources
- Crosstrain and assist in any HR functions as needed or required
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Valid Driver License
- 4-year degree and 2 years' experience in Business, HR or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
- Supervisory experience required
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent typing and data entry skills preferred
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productively
- Advanced computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple computer systems
- Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment
- Excellent attendance
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time for training, meetings, or on-site visits.
- Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
- May be occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
- Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
- Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others

Pay Range
Starting from USD $75,000.00/Yr.
