HVAC Apprentice- Residential Service

The HVAC Service apprenticeship is a 6-month training program that will lead you to success in HVAC. You will work alongside a mentor who will guide you through hands-on training. During your ride-along, you will get a real feel for the job by observing our technicians in action and experiencing the wonderful company culture. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will have the opportunity to promote to a technician.

What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential customers under the direct supervision of the lead technician.
- Assist the lead technician with diagnosing and repairing the mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
- Learn how to properly advise homeowners on the status of their HVAC system and provide options for necessary modifications or repairs.
- Travel to job sites within the service area and maintain communication with dispatchers and management to ensure schedule is maintained, work orders are completed, and delays are properly relayed to the customer.
- Complete invoices and obtain customer authorization/signatures for the financial decision at the beginning and end of the job.
- Provide excellent customer service and take proper measures to protect the customers home while performing work.
- Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies and customer service.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be able to join the on-call rotation once promoted to "Technician".
- Must attend at least 1 soft skills training class (provided by Dixie).
- Must be able to pass all technical competencies within 6 months of hire.
- Must learn and become proficient in using ServiceTitan software within 6 months.
- Must have great communication and be able to explain HVAC issues and solutions to customers.
- Must learn how to effectively utilize the HVAC Flip process within 6 months.
- Must obtain EPA Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must obtain NATE Certification within 6 months of hire.
- You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small spaces.
- Ability to pass a drug test, physical fitness test, motor vehicle record check, and background check.
- Valid driver's license required.
