Senior Cae Engineer
Divergent is a technology company that has architected, invented, built, and commercialized an end-to-end factory system called the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPSâ„¢) that comprehensively uses machine learning to optimally engineer, additively manufacture, and flexibly assemble complex integrated vehicle structures and subsystems. Products created using DAPS are superior in performance, lower in cost, rapidly customizable to meet mission and customer-specific requirements, faster to market, and scalable on demand to high volume production. Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, and Divergent is now expanding to support mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector.
Join us to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will shape the future of technology and production.
Purpose
Divergent is seeking an experienced and motivated analysis engineer to support the next generation of industry-leading vehicle development. We're committed to transforming vehicles' structural systems away from traditional manufacturing by using new materials and new technologies. To do this, we need a forward-looking and innovative engineer who will help shape the future of industrial manufacturing.
Senior DAPS Product CAE Engineer will build and manage FE models of structural components or full system architectures for a variety of vehicle platforms and perform detailed engineering analysis on structural components and systems using CAE programs. This position requires to work closely with inter-group engineers to understand manufacturing/design capabilities and limitations to ensure proposed design changes can be efficiently produced and assembled. Collaborating successfully in a team environment is essential to ensure cross-functional requirements are met while achieving safety targets.
The Role
- Build up and analyze FE Models of Nodeâ„¢-based vehicle structures for aerospace flight applications or automotive use cases including validation using hand calculations and optimization.
- Apply cutting-edge FE/CAE methodology including nonlinear geometry / nonlinear material / implicit and explicit techniques to address complicated multi-physics problems.
- Present technical analysis summary/reports efficiently at meetings and to other relevant engineers.
- Create, refine, and execute new technical solutions for aerospace structures to support external customer programs and joint development efforts.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment within the DAPS Product Engineering team and cross-functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly.
- Work cross-functionally to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and support prototype and production build activities.
