Dillon's Land Development business unit is looking for a Field Services Manager to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

At Dillon, we operate as one team. The successful candidate would ideally be based in the Northeast GTA in the Lindsay / Peterborough area and supported out of our Vaughan office. We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like:

  • Training, mentoring, and managing junior employees on the team.
  • Preparing proposals for Contract Administration and Site Inspection services.
  • Tendering and preparing contracts for Site Plan and Subdivision projects.
  • Assisting clients in negotiations with contractors.
  • Reviewing and analyzing bids submitted by contractors and providing award recommendations to clients.
  • Preparing and finalizing Contract Documents between clients and contractors.
  • Coordinating and running meetings with Municipal representatives, clients, other consultants, and contractors.
  • Resolving constructability related issues in the field.
  • Working closely with various approving authorities and agencies within the 905/705 area.
  • Keeping track of progress during construction, maintenance, and final assumptions.
  • Regular communication with Project Managers to keep them informed of construction progress and to strategize on action items.
  • Reviewing and processing contractor invoices, progress certificates, and change orders.
  • Reviewing design drawings for constructability prior to construction.
  • High level review of onsite construction works to ensure the works are completed as per the construction drawings and agency specifications.
  • Reviewing construction schedules to ensure works are completed on time.
  • Staying current on construction processes and regulations.
  • Review and improve on CPE processes for managing various CA related tasks.
  • Participation in BD and industry related events.
  • Assisting with various Business Planning initiatives for CA Team.
  • Various internal and external administration and communication.
  • Adaptability to meet external challenges.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

  • Civil Engineering Degree, College or University
  • Ability to lead and manage the work of others
  • Strong Team Player but able to work independently
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills
  • Strong Communication Skills, both Written and Verbal
  • Strong knowledge of various software tools and platforms related to Contract Administration
  • Driver's License and have access to a vehicle

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years combined experience in inspection and contracts administration
  • Full working knowledge of the municipal construction process and methods
