Roles in this job family cover the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and processes which support high quality employee relations and issue resolution in line with Diageo's values and people strategy. In the same way, they are also involved in building and managing relationships with worker representatives such as trade unions and works councils.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support in maintaining cordial relations with workmen and union representatives.
  • Participate in periodic union meetings, grievance handling, and shop-floor interactions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of employee concerns and drive engagement initiatives.
  • Assist in preparation and execution of settlements, notices, and disciplinary actions in line with applicable laws.
  • Handle end-to-end payroll processing for workmen and contract workforce ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements under labour laws such as Factories Act, CLRA, ID Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, PF, ESI, and others.
  • Maintain all registers, records, and returns required under various labour legislations.
  • Coordinate with contractors for submission of monthly compliance documents and audits.
  • Monitor contract labour deployment, attendance, and statutory documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits of contractor compliance and statutory records.
  • Liaise with government authorities during inspections and ensure zero non-compliance observations.
  • Oversee administrative activities including canteen, transport, housekeeping, uniform, and statutory notices.
  • Support in manpower planning, time office, and attendance management.
  • Assist in HR MIS preparation, dashboards, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Education: MBA / PGDM in HR / MSW or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in plant HR / employee relations / compliance roles in a manufacturing setup, preferably from FMCG industry
  • Preferred Exposure: Handling unionized workforce and contract labour management;
  • Language Known – Proficiency in Kannada is mandatory

Key skills and competencies:

  • Sound understanding of Indian labour laws and factory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with union and workforce.
  • Hands-on experience in payroll processing and compliance tools.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and resilient in managing shop-floor HR challenges.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word
