Senior HR Systems and Development Specialist
Grade: RCS J (£6000 Car/allowance, 26 days holiday, Private Health, Bonus) Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Location: Milton Keynes – minimum one office based day per week
We're looking for a Senior HR Systems and Development Specialist to act as Product and Technical Owner for our Oracle Service Cloud B2C (RightNow) HR and Service platform. They will take full ownership of how our HR Shared Services technology is designed, built and continuously improved.
In this pivotal role, you'll lead the configuration, development and implementation of our HR Administration and Shared Services solutions, ensuring they are scalable, intuitive and fully aligned to business strategy, group policy and operational goals.
You'll play a hands‑on role in solution design and development, creating and delivering custom solutions within Oracle Service Cloud B2C (RightNow) to meet complex business requirements. This includes driving configurations, customisations and integrations across the platform.
Working at the heart of cross‑functional client services, you'll design, optimise and maintain the HR Shared Services system architecture, specialising in intricate, end‑to‑end processes from engagement and discovery through to client management and ongoing support.
A typical day may involve:
- Act as a key liaison and Product Owner, partnering with stakeholders to translate business, support and security requirements into effective HR system solutions
- Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders, SMEs and vendors, proactively managing third‑party providers to ensure compliance, performance and seamless integration
- Influence and challenge stakeholders to adopt new concepts, practices and improved ways of working
- Provide clear, audience‑appropriate technical guidance to managers and employees
- Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of HR Shared Services platforms, ensuring a stable, scalable system architecture
- Prioritise, troubleshoot and oversee operational support to ensure reliable People Services delivery across HR and shared services
- Drive process simplification and automation, balancing efficiency, cost‑effectiveness and operational excellence
- Own the design and development of secure, standardised solutions within Oracle B2C Service Cloud (RightNow), aligned to global HR IT architecture
- Deliver high‑quality components including Custom Scripts, Custom Processes, Business Rules, BUI Extensions/Add‑Ins and optimised Workspaces
- Build and maintain robust REST API integrations, enabling seamless data flow across HR, Payroll and enterprise systems
- Apply strong hands‑on capability across PHP,.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, ROQL and ConnectPHP
- Administer and optimise Oracle B2C components to ensure system stability, data integrity and audit readiness
This role would suit people who have:
- Extensive experience across HR, payroll and/or business operations, with deep hands‑on exposure to transactional HR and Shared Services environments
- Expert understanding of payroll systems and processes, with a proven ability to analyse, optimise and redesign workflows for efficiency, accuracy and scalability
- Strong HR systems and product ownership experience, including system management, process improvement and delivery of complex change initiatives
- Solid business and operational mindset, enabling alignment of HR technology solutions with service delivery, policy and strategic goals
- Advanced technical capability within Oracle platforms, ideally Oracle Service Cloud B2C (RightNow), including configuration, customisation and end‑to‑end solution design
- Proven experience developing and supporting custom technical solutions, including Custom Scripts, Custom Processes, Business Rules, BUI Extensions/Add‑Ins and Workspaces
- Hands‑on development experience using scripting and coding languages such as PHP,.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, ROQL and ConnectPHP
- Demonstrated success designing and supporting system integrations using REST APIs, connecting HR, payroll and Shared Services platforms
- Working knowledge of complementary platforms such as Kronos Workforce Central and ResourceLink (desirable)
