We're now looking for an Operations Messenger to play an integral role at the heart of our operations, ensuring that every flight is a success.

A typical day may involve:

• Accurately input operational data and flight information into GCAM in real time.
• Ensure movement messages are sent within 5 minutes of aircraft being airborne.
• Capture and enter EMAs, firearms, wheelchairs and other special items in the correct fields and include relevant remarks.
• Chase Dispatchers proactively for delay details and ensure all delays are coded correctly using IATA delay codes.
• Capture delays from the correct operational thresholds (e.g., -8 to STD) and escalate delays falling under specific categories to the APM
• Maintain clear, timely communication with Dispatchers and other stakeholders.
• Support accurate daily performance statistics and operational reporting by ensuring all data is correct and complete.
• Uphold safety and compliance standards at all times and maintain professional communication across the operation.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives by identifying errors, patterns, or process gaps within delay reporting and message workflows.
• Contribute to operational cost efficiency by ensuring accurate data entry, supporting reliable delay statistics, and communicating effectively between TCO, and management.
• Individual contributor with responsibility for maintaining strong working relationships across operational teams.
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge, promoting best practice in GCAM usage, and contributing to a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrate effective communication and professionalism with internal partners.

This role would suit people who:

• Preferred experience within aviation ground handling
• Experience in a team working environment.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in chasing and validating operational information.
• Ability to work under significant time pressure, especially during first wave deadlines.
• IT literate, including experience with GCAM and internal systems.
• Understanding of IATA delay codes and their correct application.
• Ability to interpret operational updates from Dispatchers and translate them into accurate GCAM entries.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Can work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
• Are confident dealing with challenging situations
• Work well within a team and have excellent communication skills
• Are willing to attend a medical appointment

Security process to work within aviation and travel at DHL:

• Be able to provide five years' address history
• Be able to provide five years' reference history (employment/education/benefit claim/character)
• Pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
