Orchestrate Demand Process Engineer (AVP)
DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank's technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank's technology transformation.
We have a robust, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, technical skill development and networking. We are an essential part of the Bank's technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.
The Orchestrate Demand Process Engineer (AVP) supports the design, implementation and ongoing ownership of the Orchestrate Demand process within Global Procurement. The role spans both change-the-bank (CTB) delivery through the Process Orchestrator programme and business-as-usual (BaU) process ownership once live.
Operating at the intersection of process design, technology enablement and operational change, the role focuses on translating business requirements into clear, workable process designs that are implemented through the Process Orchestrator platform. A core element of the role is the effective use of AI-enabled intake and agentic AI to classify demand, guide users and automate orchestration decisions. The Lead Process Designer ensures that these capabilities are clearly defined, well documented, and adopted effectively by operational teams.
The Global Procurement (GP) function enables our bank to optimise supplier relationships to meet its strategic objectives by:
- Partnering across the bank to develop and execute strategies to meet business requirements
- Applying supply-market expertise and procurement capabilities to optimise value
- Enabling access to suppliers while identifying and mitigating vendor risk
- Managing platforms that support efficient and compliant purchasing of goods and services
The GP Transformation and Remediation Team underpins these objectives by delivering transformation initiatives, defining learning and development, and unlocking value across the function.
Responsibilities:
Process design and delivery (CTB)
- Support the end-to-end design of the C0 – Orchestrate Demand process as part of the Process Orchestrator programme, working under the direction of the programme and process leads.
- Translate business and operational requirements into clear process flows, decision logic and orchestration rules, with a particular focus on demand intake, routing and early classification.
- Contribute to the definition of AI-enabled intake models, including demand categorisation, policy guidance, and routing recommendations, ensuring that AI behavior is aligned to agreed process outcomes.
- Support the design of agentic AI use cases within orchestration (e.g. automated task progression, follow-ups, information gathering and exception handling).
- Work closely with Product Owners, functional analysts and technology teams to ensure process designs are accurately reflected in platform configuration and tested as part of programme delivery.
Process ownership and management (BaU)
- Develop and maintain detailed process maps, procedures and supporting documentation for the Orchestrate Demand process, ensuring materials remain accurate and fit for operational use.
- Facilitate process and requirements workshops with stakeholders and operations teams to gather feedback, identify issues and agree process refinements.
- Collaborate with operations teams to support the adoption of process changes, including contributing to training materials, user guidance and communications, and helping resolve process-related issues post-implementation.
- Monitor the implementation and ongoing performance of the Orchestrate Demand process and associated controls, identifying adoption challenges, process gaps or unintended outcomes and supporting remediation.
Controls and governance
- Ensure process designs incorporate required risk, control and compliance requirements, particularly where AI-enabled decisioning or automation is used.
- Support adherence to GP process governance standards by maintaining traceable documentation and escalating material design or control concerns to senior process or programme leads as required.
Essential experience:
- Experience in process design, business analysis or process improvement roles within a complex organisation, ideally within procurement, operations or a similarly regulated environment.
- Practical experience producing process maps, workflows and procedural documentation, and supporting their implementation into BAU operations.
- Experience working on technology-enabled change initiatives, collaborating with product and IT teams to translate business requirements into implemented solutions.
- Understanding of procurement processes, including intake, sourcing initiation, contracting and risk management, or related upstream procurement activities.
- Awareness of risk and control considerations in process design, with the ability to incorporate controls into workflows and documentation.
- Strong facilitation and collaboration skills, with experience running workshops and working closely with operational teams.
Desirable experience:
- Exposure to process orchestration, workflow or BPM platforms, particularly in procurement or service-intake contexts.
- Experience working with or alongside AI-enabled process components, such as intelligent intake, classification models, decision rules or automated task handling.
- Familiarity with Global Procurement platforms (e.g. S2C, P2P, intake or sourcing tools) and how processes integrate across systems.
- Experience supporting process adoption, including training, user guidance or operational readiness activities.
Decision-making
- Responsible for making day-to-day process design and documentation decisions within the Orchestrate Demand scope, in line with agreed standards and guidance.
- Able to prioritise minor process enhancements and documentation updates based on operational feedback and observed issues.
- Escalates recommendations where proposed changes impact controls, AI behaviour, compliance requirements or the wider operating model.
- Applies a structured and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving, ensuring changes are well-reasoned, documented and aligned to intended process outcomes.
