As a Java Backend Engineer in the dbflow squad, you will be instrumental in building and evolving backend services that power intelligent automation for Private Bank Germany.

You will design and implement robust, scalable modules, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure seamless integration with BPM tools and cloud-native platforms.

Collaborating closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams, you will help shape the technical foundation of our digital transformation journey.

Your key responsibilities

• Design and develop core backend modules for automation services.
• Participate in customer and stakeholder meetings to align on technical solutions.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure.
• Break down complex tasks, estimate effort, and deliver iteratively.
• Conduct peer reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold code quality.
• Write unit and integration tests, and resolve bugs efficiently.

Your skills and experience

• 8+ years of Java development experience with strong Java Core knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with BPM tools (Camunda preferred).
• Proficiency in Spring, Hibernate/MyBatis, REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Maven, JIRA, Git Stash, and Confluence.
• Experience with Oracle databases, SQL, Tomcat, and WebLogic Server.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred) and containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of design patterns and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Grunt, Bootstrap, Angular, NodeJS).
• Google cloud experience
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL knowledge.
• Familiarity with runtime analytics and digital certificate handling.
