Associate Engineer-Network Deployment

Infrastructure Core Products (ICP) - Global Network Services (GNS) is responsible for the engineering, development, and operation of DB's Group-wide network for all areas of the Bank. GNS supports all aspects of network infrastructure in over 2500 offices in 50 countries.

NCT will be responsible for maintaining network environment prepare, documenting and deploy changes in a network, providing basic fault finding and fault escalation and liaising with carriers and vendors for installations.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing solutions leveraging and expanding on existing design standards, liaising with internal customers, raising changes and deploying new technologies as required by the project.
  • Document and deploy changes in a network
  • Troubleshoot network issues with a network sniffer like Wireshark
  • Liaison with carriers and vendors for installations
  • Support both routine changes and large projects in the network backbone, data center, extranets, the trading floor, and the branch network. Projects will range from the design and buildouts of new locations and silos to the rollout of new features and functionality for global initiatives in support of global market data applications, financial systems and infrastructure involving high volume securities trading and financial transactions.

Your skills and experience:

  • Up to 2 years of experience working in a corporate global network environment, ideally with financial institutions
  • Basic networking technology skills along with a good understanding of cross platform technologies
  • Certified technical engineer (typically Cisco CCNA or comparable)
  • Good understanding of ITIL and service management principles
  • Basic understanding of Ethernet, Spanning Tree, TCP/IP, Routing (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)
  • Basic understanding of Cisco operating systems like IOS and NX-OS
  • Experience with network monitoring / management tools/ analysis tools
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate problems
  • Good communication skills, fluent in local language and English (written/verbal)
  • Excellent team worker, able to work in virtual global teams in a matrix organization
  • The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends due to business requirements
